Doom is the rune word 'HelOhmUmLoCham' for axes, polearms, or hammers in Diablo II: Lord of Destruction.
Doom is best known for its Holy Freeze aura, a Paladin aura which deals cold damage and slows enemies (the slow effect even works on cold-immune monsters). Doom is a difficult rune word to make due to the very high-level Cham rune. It also requires Ohm and Lo runes which are usually used for the more popular Call to Arms, Grief, and Fortitude rune words.
Doom can only be used in 2-handed hammers (such as Ogre and Thunder Mauls) because 1-handed hammers can't have more than 4 sockets. Classes that want to Doom a 1-handed weapon should choose either an Ettin Axe or Berserker Axe to make the most use of Doom's Enhanced Damage stat.
Doom can work well with Shapeshifting Druids. If socketed into a Thresher or Greater Poleaxe, it can later be handed down to an Act 2 mercenary when the Druid finds a better weapon. However, a Doomed Thresher on a mercenary will be harder to hit certain increased attack speed breakpoints compared to the Greater Poleaxe.
One of the best classes to use Doom would actually be a Paladin. Much like how a Paladin would use the Dream rune word, the Holy Freeze aura from Doom receives synergies from a Paladin's Resist Cold and Salvation skills. A Frost Zealot who uses Zeal and Holy Freeze as their main skills can shift all their points from Holy Freeze into Fanaticism, greatly increasing their power without ruining their playstyle. The difference between a Frost Zealot's level 20 Holy Freeze and the level 12 Holy Freeze provided by Doom is mostly in the range of its aura.
